It’s unfortunate that my son and I had to endure such a horrific tragedy. I wasn’t sure how we would make it from under the cloud of sorrow and grief. But we are. And it is in the smallest of moments that we are able to find the most joy.
My son brought home an excellent report today. I was so proud of him. Not only is he doing well, but he is doing well under an unimaginable amount of adversity. His little, tiny heart is mighty indeed. And it is through his successes that he teaches me about how to come through the storm.
The truth is even though we endure adversity, life keeps moving on. And we have a choice to stand still and suffer, or find a good place and carry on. When you are suffering a good place is hard to find. It doesn’t shine brightly like the sun, it’s more like a fading star.
You’ll find those good places in small moments of laughter, a kind word from a co-worker, a funny movie, or a excellent behavior report!
These tiny moments bring joy to a pained heart. Touching these moments makes life worth living.
