It all started with this picture.
A lonely piece of artwork created by my son, fasten to the wall with a single thumbtack. My child was so proud of his creation that he wanted Mommy to display it proudly. But this pitiful display looks far from proud. So I became proactive– I decided to create a display that would accommodate my child’s artwork in all it’s variety.
I’ve fallen in love with this style of artwork display. You know, the very industrial, but sloppy display that involves metal cables and clips, reminiscent of a clothes line. But these very cheap looking picture hangers are actually a bit pricey.
Instead of paying $40-$60 bucks, I headed to my local Dollar Tree and picked up the supplies necessary to create a knock-off version for only $3. I purchased Steel Wire, Clothes Pins, and a pack of Self-Adhesive Hooks.
The project took all of 5 minutes to complete. I simply stuck the hooks on the wall, cut a piece of metal wire with scissors, and then wrapped each end around the corresponding hook. At last, hung my child’s artwork with clothes pins.
And ta-daa! (as my son would say), I’ve got a clever way to display his beautiful artwork!
