When I was a new mom, I was lucky to work from home. Even still, my ability to schedule and save-time where possible, was the key to my success. New moms can easily feel overwhelmed by all of the juggling they must do with a baby. Not only must you take care of the baby, you must take care of yourself and your mate.
Time-Saving Formula Dispenser
This formula dispenser saves so much time! You pre-fill the dispenser with the formula, and then just pour it into the bottle when ready. This is so useful at night when you’re too tired to measure formula or on the go when you have to fill a bottle at a stop light.
An alternative, but more expensive option is this Baby Brezza Formula dispenser. With a push of button, it will prepare your baby’s bottles with no air bubbles for you. Basically, it’s a baby coffee machine without the coffee.
A bottle warmer will keep your baby’s formula or breast milk at the optimal temperate until they are ready for it. This allows you to pre-make endless bottles. They also have bottle warmers that plug into the car charger.
Pre-Make Food Pouches
Whether your breastfeeding, pureeing from scratch or buying jarred baby food, stuffing milk, formula or foods in squeezable pouches allows your baby to self-feed. Giving you time to relax or fold clothes.
In addition to pre-making food pouches, pre-make dishes for both baby and the entire family once a week. I like to this early Saturday morning; I’m not stretched for time and then I still have Sunday to still relax.
Emergency Diaper Bag
Keep a diaper bag in your trunk. That way you won’t have to worry about running out of diapers, wipes, clothes or formula while on the go.
Sanitize Bottles While Cooking
Since you have the stove on, you might as well boil bottles at the same time. Or invest in a microwaveable bottle steamer.
Pump at Work or While Bathing
The bane of breastfeeding is finding time to pump, or needing pump at all the wrong times. Many workplaces now have special rooms for breastfeeding mothers. Using break time as pump time is a perfect way to save time. Another convenient time for pumping is in the bathroom — while on the toilet (I know it sounds gross) or while bathing. Just make sure your pump is not plugged into an electrical socket while around water.
Take Advantage of Close Parking
Some stores and workplaces have parking up front for parents with babies. Take advantage of the close parking while you can get it.
Invest in Good Wipes
Wipes can save you time, not only when it comes to wiping bottoms, but when it comes to wiping stains out of the carpet (believe a good baby wipe can compete with the best carpet shampooer), wiping spills in the car, or wiping your little one’s messy face. Get cheap wipes, and you’ll end up with a mess on your hands rather than the wipe, and you’ll go through loads more. Target’s Up&Up are the best wipes on the blanket. Hands down!!!
Nap Time is Go Time
When your baby does settle in for a nap, or goes to bed for the night, it’s time for you to get things done or get some sleep yourself. This time is precious so don’t waste it.
Implement a Schedule
Babies may seem spontaneous, but they actually have their own inner schedule. The problem is it seems to conflict with yours. Meet in the middle and create a schedule that works for both of you. Sleep, eat, play and do work on a schedule.
